Where one or two non-executive directors sit outside the working language, whispered simultaneous is delivered from beside the delegate so the wider room continues in English. Training & Onboarding

Day-long sessions require interpreter continuity: the same lead across days, paired with a second interpreter rotating every 20–30 minutes to maintain accuracy. A pre-approved glossary is built from the training materials so terminology stays consistent from module one through certification. RSI booth is recommended for cohorts above 25 attendees.

Mode is chosen by pace and confidentiality: consecutive when the goal is precision and relationship-building, whispered simultaneous when the client-side team is briefed in real time on a live English pitch, remote simultaneous when the buyer is in another country and travel is not warranted.

Investor & Earnings Calls

Real-time simultaneous delivery with tight terminology control — IFRS line items, guidance language and analyst-question phrasing all rehearsed against the release deck. NDA is signed before the deck is shared, typically 24–48 hours ahead. A second interpreter is standard for any call over 45 minutes.

Site Visits & Factory Audits

Walking consecutive across production floors, R&D labs and warehouses. IDA-hosted delegations, supplier audits and ISO / compliance visits are standard formats. Interpreter follows the site’s safety briefing, wears the same PPE as the host party and works to the escort route — no side-conversations or unaccompanied movement.

Mutual vs Client-Provided NDAs

We hold a standard mutual NDA that most clients accept without amendment. Where legal prefers to issue their own — common in M&A, R&D collaborations, and any deal with US or DACH counterparties — the interpreter signs the client’s document directly, ahead of any material being shared. Turnaround is same-day when the redline is minimal.

Sector-Specific Depth

M&A engagements typically add carve-outs for financial data, deal-team lists and target identification. R&D and pharma sessions add IP-scope clauses covering compound names, trial designs and manufacturing know-how. Fintech and SaaS work often layers a data-processing addendum to align with the client’s existing DPA framework.

Continuing Duty

The interpreter’s obligation does not end when the session ends. Notes are destroyed within 24 hours unless retention is contractually required. No session content is used as case study material without explicit written permission. Freelancers on our roster sign a back-to-back confidentiality clause that mirrors the client’s terms.

Secure Comms & GDPR Minimisation

Decks, term sheets and draft releases are shared via the client’s preferred secure channel — typically a data-room link with view-only permissions. We do not store attendee personal data beyond operational minimum. Recordings, if any, are handled by the client’s side; interpreters do not record independently.

Platform Coverage

Zoom is the cleanest environment: native interpretation channels, per-language audio, no bleed. Teams supports interpretation on qualifying licences — we confirm the tenant configuration in advance. Webex works via a parallel audio bridge when native interpretation is not enabled. Google Meet is not recommended for simultaneous — consecutive works, simultaneous is worked around.

Audio & VRI Etiquette

Wired headset and a quiet room are non-negotiable for the interpreter and strongly recommended for principal speakers. Video-remote interpreting (VRI) requires the interpreter to see faces — gallery view on, not speaker view. One speaker at a time, hand-raise for turn-taking, chat used for spelling out proper nouns and figures.

Continuity for Long Sessions

A single interpreter caps at roughly 45–60 minutes on simultaneous before fatigue starts costing accuracy. Sessions above that threshold are booked with a second interpreter rotating every 20–30 minutes. Consecutive can extend further because of the turn-taking rhythm, but we still recommend a second interpreter for 3+ hour negotiations.

Dry-Run and Tech-Fail Contingency

A 15-minute technical dry-run 24 hours before the session catches audio issues, platform-permission gaps and channel routing before they become live problems. Every remote booking carries a fallback dial-in number and a WhatsApp thread with the interpreter so a dropped connection reconvenes in under two minutes rather than derailing the meeting.

GMT/BST Anchoring for EU

Standard working hours (08:00–19:00 Dublin) draw from the local roster. Central Europe overlap is native; Nordics, Iberia and Balkans work cleanly in this window. No premium applies.

Split-Shift Relay for 4+ Hour Sessions

Board days, all-hands town halls and multi-region training programmes routinely run four hours or more. We split these into two-interpreter shifts with a formal handover midway, so accuracy holds across the full session rather than degrading in the last hour.

CET and PST-Network Pool

Early-APAC (05:00–08:00 Dublin) is resourced from CET-based freelancers already awake and pre-briefed. Late-US calls (20:00–23:00 Dublin) draw on our PST-network pool where the interpreter is mid-afternoon local. The client sees a native-hours interpreter regardless of the call time.

Out-of-Hours Premium

An out-of-hours premium applies to sessions scheduled before 08:00 or after 20:00 Dublin time, and to any weekend or Irish public holiday coverage. The premium is disclosed at the quote stage — no surprise line items — and scales with the notice period given.
